Much have been happening to the girls. They had been busy on & after the Olympics. Uralochka managed to be the third placer in the European Cups 2000/2001. Artamonova, Potachova, & Sokolova were on teams Caposud REGGIO CALABRIA & Eczacibasi ISTANBUL respectively. The Italian team was second while the Turkish team was fourth. The winner was Volley MODENA of Italy.

The team will also be busy on the following months, participating in the BCV Volleymasters 2001 & European Nations Cup this June, World Grand Prix on the whole month of August, and the qualification rounds of the upcoming World Championships 2002 on months July & August.

Although the team has been winning points and gaining Coach Karpol lots of smile (so he could stop yelling at them) inside the court, they are also experiencing their ups & downs while outside the court. Tichtchenko, according to Y! Club Team Russia, will be getting married sooner. Good news for her and her happiness is her fans’ happiness. Although everything was good for Tichtchenko, Chachkova (or now Sokolova?) had an upsetting incident in her life. Her husband, Aleksandr Chachkov, & she divorced last February the same year. Lyuba gained custody with Daniil. I, too, was shocked. I just wish all the best for her & Daniil.

Club:
Everybody belongs to the same club, Uralochka. And I think that Uralochka means from Ural. Why do I say that? No. I do know, a bit. Well, since a British woman is “Anglichanka” in Russian, then maybe Uralochka means Ural woman. Hehe… ^_^v Just a theory.
